Voting was reportedly disrupted in Modakeke Ward 10, Osun State, on Saturday after persons suspected to be policemen allegedly seized election materials and dispersed voters and election officials.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred after the polling area had remained peaceful.
The witness alleged that the suspected policemen took away election materials before releasing what was described as tear gas and leaving the area.
“All the election agents and corps members took to their heels as soon as they arrived,” the witness said.
The development reportedly caused panic at the polling area, with election officials and party agents fleeing for safety.
The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the identity of those who allegedly took away the materials, could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.
There was also no immediate official statement from the police or the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the reported incident.

In another development, GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the Osun State Police Command has arrested a serving member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji, alongside 146 suspected electoral mercenaries camped at his residence in Ikire.
The lawmaker, who represents Irewole/Isokan State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, was arrested on Friday night during a police operation.
