The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 Basic Training School (BTS).
According to the official guidelines posted on the Navy’s X handle on Monday, September 28, the online application portal will open on October 2, 2026 and close on October 31, 2026.
The Navy said the exercise is completely FREE and warned applicants against paying anyone claiming to have influence over the recruitment.
“Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” the Navy warned.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth
2. Must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
3. Must be single
4. Must be medically, physically and psychologically fit
5. Must have no previous criminal conviction
6. Must not have tattoos or physical disabilities
7. Minimum Height: 1.69m for males, 1.65m for females

– O’Level holders (SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB): 18 – 22 years
– NCE, OND, Registered Nurse/Midwife, Drivers/Mechanics, Sportsmen/women: 18 – 26 years
Educational Requirements:
– At least 5 credits including Mathematics and English Language in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB. Result must not be more than 6 years old.
– For tradesmen/tradeswomen: Must have additional Trade Test / City & Guild certificate.
– One application only – multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.

Steps:
1. Visit the portal and create a new profile with active email.
2. Authenticate your NIN.
3. Fill the application form accurately.
4. Submit and print out the following forms:
– Acknowledgement Form
– Parent/Guardian Consent Form
– Local Government Attestation Form
– Guarantor’s Certification Form
The date and venues for the recruitment aptitude test will be communicated later.
