The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results are not required to re-upload them or obtain a verification code under the Board’s new verification system.
The clarification followed numerous complaints and enquiries from candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, or in previous years under the old upload process.
In a statement signed by Dr Fabian Benjamin, Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol (PAP), JAMB, the Board said all previously uploaded O’Level results remain valid on its platform.
“The Board wishes to clarify that all candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again,” the statement said.
JAMB also explained that the clarification applies to candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded them after the release of the WAEC results, as well as candidates who uploaded their results in previous years.
“All O’Level results uploaded through the old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on the Board’s platform,” it added.
According to the Board, candidates in this category are not required to take any further action regarding the new verification code.
JAMB said the new verification process was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent falsified results from being accepted during the admission process.
“The new verification process is designed to further strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and ensure that no falsified result is accepted into the admission process,” the Board stated.
It further said the results uploaded under the previous process would remain available on its portal and could be subjected to the appropriate verification by tertiary institutions where necessary.
The Board therefore advised candidates not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads simply because their results were submitted before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.
Candidates affected by the clarification were assured that their previously uploaded O’Level results would remain valid and available for consideration during the admission process, subject to the required verification by their respective institutions..
