‘I Never Told Anyone Not To Marry’ – GehGeh Defends Self After Wedding Goes Viral

Content creator Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has responded to criticism after videos of him attending what appeared to be a traditional wedding ceremony went viral, prompting many Nigerians to question whether the event was genuine.

The self-styled relationship and finance influencer shared clips from the ceremony on his X page on Saturday, showing himself and a lady dressed in matching burgundy traditional outfits.

GehGeh wore a flowing agbada accessorised with black bead necklaces. An invitation card featured in one of the videos was dated July 26, with the ceremony scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., and identified the couple as Mary and Prosper.

Critics argued that his participation in the ceremony contradicted the relationship advice he has built his online brand around, particularly his views directed at men and women.

Responding to the backlash, GehGeh insisted he had never advised people against getting married and urged social media users to better understand how online content works.
