American actor and disability rights advocate RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. in the television series Breaking Bad, has died aged 34.
The actor died on Monday in Texas, confirmed to TMZ by a county official. The outlet reported it to be a suicide. Authorities are investigating his death.
Mitte was best known for his role as Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad. He appeared in over 56 episodes. He starred in projects such as Triumph, Standing Up for Sunny, and The Oak Room.
In a statement obtained by US entertainment publications, Mitte’s representatives expressed grief over his death.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” the statement read.
His representatives also requested privacy for the family during the period of mourning.

He moved to Hollywood as a teenager and secured smaller roles before gaining recognition as Walter “Flynn” White Jr. in Breaking Bad, which aired from 2008 to 2013.
Like his character, Mitte had cerebral palsy. However, he modified his speech and used forearm crutches to portray a more pronounced version of the condition in the series. He appeared in 56 episodes of the Emmy-winning drama.
Mitte became engaged to his longtime partner, Kennedy Suarez, in 2025. TMZ reported the engagement in October that year.
Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at three years old. He was a strong advocate for people with disabilities.
“People with disabilities can grow up thinking they have a weakness because they are told: ‘You will never do this properly, you will never walk properly or talk properly.’ That’s all they hear. But you have to look past that,” he told The Guardian in 2015.
“Without [my] disability I wouldn’t understand half the things I do today,” he continued. “You grow, you learn and you suffer – and it gives you more understanding of aspects of this world.”
