Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force tonight, Monday, October 12, 2026.
The former Governor was arrested at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
The arrest comes after the former governor reportedly evaded repeated police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, prompting the police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest.
Okorocha was initially invited to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on September 2, 2026, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers, a date he failed to honour.
Recall that a senior magistrate Court sitting in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, and a former Senator, Ifeanyi Araraume, for criminal conspiracy, forgery, and tendering of false documents.
Also ordered to be arrested are Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha, who conspired with Rochas Okorocha to forge and tender false APC results, claiming to have been won by the former governor.

The arrest warrants came as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) asked both the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate Okorocha for allegedly parading fake All Progressives Congress (APC) primary results.
In the bench warrant dated September 09, 2026, the accused were charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery, and uttering false documents.
