In a significant show of solidarity, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko North West Constituency 2 have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Honourable Moruf Tosin, popularly known as Hon. Murphy, and formally endorsed him as their preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat in the Akoko North Federal Constituency ahead of the party primaries.
The high-powered meeting and endorsement exercise took place in Ogbagi Akoko, a key community within the Akoko North Federal Constituency.
The gathering brought together prominent APC leaders, party elders, youth representatives, women leaders, and grassroots mobilizers from across the constituency.
Key Resolutions
The stakeholders resolved as follows:
1 Vote of Confidence: They expressed strong confidence in Hon. Murphy’s capacity, integrity, and track record of service, describing him as a reliable and people oriented leader who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the development of Akoko North.
2 Endorsement: The group formally endorsed Hon. Moruf Tosin (Hon. Murphy) as the candidate to fly the APC flag for the Akoko North Federal Constituency in the upcoming House of Representatives election.
3 Call for Free and Fair Primaries: The stakeholders appealed to the APC National Leadership to ensure that the forthcoming party primaries are conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and credible manner. They emphasized that a level playing field would strengthen the party’s unity and enhance its chances in the general election.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, leaders at the event highlighted Hon. Murphy’s accessibility, developmental strides, and his deep understanding of the challenges facing the people of Akoko North.
They noted that his aspiration represents a fresh and purposeful leadership that can effectively represent the constituency at the national level.
