Lagos APC Youth Group Organises Adire Making Program, Presents Certificate To Participants

The All Progressive Congress National Youth Ambassadors, Lagos Mainland Chapter has completed 3-days intensive Adire making program, and also presented participants with certificates.

According to the organizers, the event focused on preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Adire fabric-making.

The final day of the Adire Program, organized by the APC National Youth Ambassadors, Lagos Mainland Chapter, was a resounding success.

The event culminated in a certificate presentation ceremony, celebrating the completion of a three-day intensive workshop focused on preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Adire fabric-making.

In her remarks, Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Omolola Essien, expressed immense pride in the youth who organized the Adire program.

She commended them for channeling their energy into a positive and productive initiative instead of participating in protests. “This program showcases our traditional attire and the creativity of our youth. It’s a testament to the peace and stability of our Local Government, where people can gather and celebrate without disruption.

Our President is doing his best, and our Governor is also making significant strides. In some states, there was unrest due to protests, but here, we have harmony,” she stated. Hon. Mrs. Essien also noted the popularity of her own Adire outfit, which was made by the participants, and extended her gratitude to all who took part in the training sessions organized by the Local Government.

The APC Youth Leader Central, Hon. Matti Eshilokun, offered words of advice and encouragement. He appreciated the youth for their efforts in organizing the program and urged them to continue with such initiatives that promote cultural pride and community engagement. He also commended everyone for refraining from participating in protests, emphasizing the importance of supporting the President and the Governor of Lagos State through constructive activities.

The program also featured speeches from the event’s moderator and guest speakers, who echoed the sentiments of gratitude and encouragement for the participants.

Baale Otunmara Kalejaiye Kehinde: a respected community leader, expressed his appreciation for being part of the program. He acknowledged the efforts of the participants and, in a generous gesture, promised to support each participant with a sum of ₦5,000 as a token of appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the program.

Vice Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Emilagba Jubril, also delivered a heartfelt address. He expressed deep appreciation for the Executive Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Omolola Essien, highlighting her numerous initiatives that have brought development to the community. He mentioned upcoming projects, including the distribution of free GCE forms, JAMB forms, mini-buses, and palliative measures to support residents in the coming months.

Hon. Emilagba encouraged everyone to stay engaged and continue supporting the Local Government’s efforts, concluding his speech with a prayer for the community’s continued progress.

Emilagba Bisoye: the Coordinator of the event, extended his gratitude to all attendees, especially the distinguished guests who honored the youth with their presence. He praised the graduates of the program, particularly the women, for their hard work and dedication.

The Adire Program stands as a shining example of the positive impact that can be achieved when the youth are empowered to embrace their cultural heritage and contribute to the community’s development.

The event was also graced by other notable figures, including the Council Leader, Hon. Azeez Oloto; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ogunniyi; Prince H.O. Muhammad; Hon. Oluseye Olofin; Baale Oyingbo; and other esteemed community leaders.
