Eleven persons, including 10 adult males and one adult female, died on Sunday night in a lone accident at Eruku Bridge along the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Odunsi Afolabi.
The PRO said the occupants were travelling in a gold Toyota vehicle with registration number GGE 722 KJ, Lagos.

According to Odunsi, the ill-fated vehicle somersaulted and fell off the bridge, trapping all the occupants as the doors locked due to the impact of the accident.
He said personnel of the FRSC, with assistance from members of the local community, had to dismantle the vehicle to recover the remains of the victims.
The bodies were said to have been deposited at the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, Ifo.
He explained that a preliminary report cited driving under the influence and overloading as the probable causes of the fatal accident.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, advised travellers on the route to exercise extreme caution, especially when driving at night.
He, however, expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
