VIDEO: I Didn’t Dump Tinubu, Kwara Senator Mustapha Says After Defection To PDP

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has denied insinuations that he has withdrawn his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

Mustapha, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

He expressed support for the Rainbow Coalition, adding that a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has also thrown his weight behind the group.

He also said that he would defeat Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the 2027 NASS election for the seat.

The senator claimed that he would defeat the governor in the January 16 election before 1 p.m.

AbdulRazaq is the candidate of the APC while the lawmaker picked the PDP ticket by substitution.

Mustapha said that though he was against the governor’s political camp, he supports the re-election of President Tinubu.

He said that Kwara politics had not been driven by rotation but competence.
