Tinubu’s Policies Will Lift Nigerians Out Of Poverty – Ooni

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will lift Nigerians out of poverty and revitalise the economy through policies aimed at promoting industrialisation and improving living conditions.

The monarch spoke at his palace during the unveiling of the National Mobility Programme of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CreditCorp).

Ogunwusi urged Nigerians to support the administration’s economic policies, saying the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen industrialisation would ultimately improve the welfare of citizens.

He expressed optimism that Tinubu’s goal of reducing poverty would be achieved through the various programmes and policies introduced by the administration to alleviate economic hardship.

According to him, the administration’s economic policies were already producing positive results.

“The economic policies of the Tinubu administration are already yielding good results. The country’s capital market and foreign reserves have witnessed unprecedented growth, while the foreign exchange market has become more stable, allowing businesses and individuals to make better economic projections,” he said.

“Things that have never been recorded in history, we have recorded them. Our capital market has gotten to over ₦150 trillion. Nigeria is now the most capitalised market in the world, and we are now over $53 billion in foreign reserves,” he said.

“The intention of President Tinubu is to put an end to poverty among Nigerians, adding that the steps taken so far by the President has revitalized the nation’s economy.”

Oba Ogunwusi said the policies and programmes initiated by the current administration are aimed at boosting the nation’s economy.

“President Tinubu is determined to improve the nation’s micro economy by encouraging Small and Medium Scale Business owners through various policies and programmes.”

In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer of CREDICORP, Mr Uzoma Nwagba disclosed that “over 300,000 people have benefited from the various empowerment programmes of the agency within its two years of establishment.”

Nwagba said arrangements are underway to empower more Nigerians through soft and revolving loans and provision of working tools among other initiatives.

No fewer than 100 residents of Ile-Ife were given tricycle under the vehicle financing scheme of the agency.
