Saudi Crown Prince Moves Between Palaces Equipped With Bunkers Amid Houthi Missile Attacks – Report

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly been moving between heavily guarded royal residences equipped with bunkers as Houthi missile attacks intensify in Saudi Arabia, including a reported strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the crown prince is relying on a security team and moving between fortified residences amid growing concerns over the safety of Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

The report also said his last publicly reported appearance in the coverage was on October 6, 2026.

The reported security measures follow a missile strike on a complex housing Terminals 3 and 4 at King Khalid International Airport over the weekend.

Reports put the death toll at between 12 and 13, with more than 300 people injured.

Several victims were reportedly in critical condition as authorities continued to assess the casualties.

An American citizen was among those reported killed, while an Indian national later died from injuries sustained in the attack.

The reported casualties and nationalities varied as new information emerged. Images and accounts of the incident also pointed to significant damage to airport infrastructure, including partially collapsed sections of the roof.

Airport operations were suspended following the strike as the authorities responded to the damage and casualties.

The Houthis later claimed responsibility for the attack and warned that Saudi airports could remain targets as the confrontation escalated.

The strike has raised further concerns about the ability of Saudi Arabia’s air defences to protect strategic facilities from incoming missiles. It was also described in reports as one of the deadliest attacks on Saudi territory in more than a decade.

US President Donald Trump has left open the possibility of American involvement as Saudi Arabia considers its response to the attacks.

Trump described the developments as unacceptable and expressed dissatisfaction with the strikes. He also indicated that he intended to speak with Mohammed bin Salman, whom he has previously described as a friend.

The security situation has also affected daily life in Riyadh, where schools had previously switched to remote learning during missile and drone alerts. Those precautionary measures were reported before the latest airport strike, and there has been no separate confirmation in the supplied report of new school closures following the incident.
