GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, met in the United States.
The duo met on the sidelines of the 11th Annual Cambridge Africa Together Conference (ATC), currently being held at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge.
El-Rufai was listed as one of the speakers at the conference, which brings together African leaders, scholars, and changemakers.
Both men belong to rival political camps. While Obi ran under the Labour Party in the last presidential election, El-Rufai, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is believed to be politically aligned with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, a member of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently declared plans to lead a coalition aimed at wrestling power in 2027.
