Peter Obi Reportedly Shopping For New Party As Jonathan Linked To NDC Presidential Ticket

There are emerging reports circulating on social media claiming that former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has begun searching for another political platform ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The claims also alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan is being positioned to take over the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the same electoral cycle.

The reports, which were attributed to a Facebook post by an admin identified as Eneh of Aif Media, suggest possible major political realignments in Nigeria’s 2027 race.

The rumour comes amid speculations that Jonathan maybe vying for President in 2027 after persuasion by support groups and loyalists.

GISTSMATE MEDIA earlier reported that Jonathan hinted at the possibility of returning to the presidential race ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying he would consult widely after being urged by a group of youths to contest.

Jonathan made the remarks while addressing young Nigerians who appealed to him to run for president in 2027.

Responding to the calls, the former president cautioned that the presidential race is a serious undertaking and not something to be approached lightly.

“Presidential race is not a computer game. But I’ve heard you, and I’ll consult widely. But the most important thing is in Nigeria, that the young people will have hope,” Jonathan said.
