Peter Obi Changes Parties ‘Like Table Tennis’ — Bwala Mocks

The Presidency has launched a scathing critique against Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), accusing him of political instability and lacking the resilience required to manage national crises.

Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Presidential Spokesperson Daniel Bwala mocked the former Anambra State Governor’s recent defection to the NDC.

Highlighting Obi’s rapid political trajectory—which has seen him jump from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party, then to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and now the NDC—Bwala argued that such a nomadic political history disqualifies him from leading a complex nation like Nigeria.

Taking a swipe at the recent efforts by various political figures to form a united opposition front ahead of the 2027 elections, Bwala described the alliance as an unraveling plot driven by inconsistent politicians.

“Their conspiracy was exposed most recently when the people they are supporting suddenly decided to form what they call one opposition and within the space of three months, they will have to change three times minimum,” the presidential aide stated.

Pointing specifically to the new NDC candidate, Bwala added, “Their master, Peter Obi’s chequered history is that of changing parties like a table tennis.”

Questioning Obi’s readiness for the presidency, the presidential spokesperson challenged him to explain his pattern of abandoning his political platforms at the slightest hint of internal friction.

He argued that a leader who cannot resolve intra-party conflicts lacks the capacity to govern the country.

“The man who said he has a mission to lead Nigeria have not been able to answer a basic question,” Bwala declared during the broadcast.

“The one who wants to govern Nigeria has not been able to answer the question why he runs away when he sees a crisis in a party. Anybody who wants to govern a country must be able to face crisis.”
