In his continuous pursuit of excellence and good governance, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Akin-Funmilayo Williams, has reaffirmed his ministry’s unwavering commitment to transforming the landscape of land administration and urban development in Oyo State in line with His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde’s vision.
Mr. Williams emphasized that the ministry is resolutely focused on making land administration more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly. “Our goal is to streamline all processes of land acquisition, registration, and dispute resolution,” he stated.
By leveraging modern technology and digital innovations, the ministry aims to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, strengthen accountability, and enhance service delivery — ensuring that every resident and investors can access land-related services seamlessly.
A central priority of the ministry, according to Mr. Williams, is the provision of affordable and sustainable housing for all residents of Oyo State. Through strategic public-private partnerships and forward-looking housing initiatives, the government is addressing the housing deficit while promoting decent living standards.
“Our policies are built around accessibility, inclusiveness, and sustainability — ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to live in a well-serviced, safe, and dignified environment,” he affirmed. The ministry’s efforts also extend to integrating essential infrastructure and social amenities to build truly sustainable communities.
As Oyo State continues to experience rapid growth, the ministry remains committed to shaping its urban future responsibly. Mr. Williams noted that the government’s urban development agenda is centered on well-planned, resilient, and inclusive cities that drive economic growth, foster social harmony, and respect environmental balance.
“Through strategic collaboration with relevant stakeholders, we are creating cities that are not only livable but also productive and future-ready,” he added.
Under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development continues to play a pivotal role in achieving the administration’s vision of a modern, organized, and sustainable Oyo State — where every citizen can truly thrive.
