Owo stakeholders and APC aspirants categorically reject the shameless marginalization of Owo in the ongoing power play within the party.
What is unfolding is not leadership, not consultation, and certainly not democracy; it is a deliberate conspiracy to weaken Owo’s political relevance, silence its voice, and reduce a historically decisive community to a mere spectator in decisions that affect its future.
Owo will not accept this humiliation in silence. We know our worth, we know our sacrifices, and we know the betrayal being staged against us.
Owo is not a political spare part in Ondo State. Owo is the Kano of Ondo State, a political giant whose strength has repeatedly shaped electoral outcomes and stabilized the APC when it mattered most. Even the sitting governor cannot boast of his electoral victory without the support and votes delivered from Owo LGA.
It is therefore absurd, insulting, and provocative for any group of party leaders at the national level to treat Owo as though it can be discarded after using its strength to build the same structure that now seeks to sideline it. This is not only ingratitude; it is outright political arrogance.
The late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu understood the importance of justice, balance, and political courage. He stood where others were afraid to stand and played a historic role in the Asiwaju project when the political establishment was hostile to the idea. That legacy of boldness and fairness is being disgraced by those who now preside over exclusion and manipulation.
It is a bitter irony that a minority is being handed power over the majority, while the wishes of genuine party members are being trampled upon by a few self-serving actors hiding under the cover of the APC National Working Committee.
Owo aspirants have been deliberately shortchanged in the House of Representatives and Senate processes, and the pattern of exclusion is too obvious to be dismissed as an accident.
This is calculated marginalization. It is a political ambush against a people who have remained loyal, committed, and generous to the party’s success.
The National Working Committee has no moral right to continue imposing decisions that insult the intelligence of the people, undermine internal democracy, and deepen resentment among faithful party members in Owo and beyond.
We therefore demand an immediate end to this disgraceful pattern of political suppression. The APC National Working Committee must stop playing god with the destiny of Owo.
The party must correct these injustices, reverse the imposed manipulations, and restore the dignity of fair political participation.
If the APC continues on this path of recklessness and exclusion, it will only succeed in sowing division, encouraging revolt, and weakening its own foundation in Ondo State. No party survives by endlessly humiliating its strongest supporters.
The message from Owo is clear and unambiguous: enough is enough. We will not continue to endorse a system that rewards betrayal and punishes loyalty.
Owo demands respect, equity, and its rightful place in the political structure of the APC. Any leadership that cannot embrace justice should not expect obedience from the people it has repeatedly insulted.
