The Ondo State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed Erelu Taibat Oloruntoba as the Commissioner for Special Duties.
The action was carried out in accordance with the constitutional requirement that any person nominated by the State Government for appointment as a Commissioner must be screened and confirmed by the State House of Assembly before assuming office.
The confirmation process followed the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which mandate legislative scrutiny and approval of Commissioner nominees presented by the executive arm of government.
This ensures that appointments to the State Executive Council meet the standards of legislative oversight and public accountability.
Erelu Taibat Oloruntoba was formally presented to the House by a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly. She was introduced to the full membership of the House, including the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Landmark. The presentation enabled members to examine her credentials and suitability for the position of Commissioner for Special Duties.
Following the screening exercise, the Ondo State House of Assembly confirmed the nomination of Erelu Taibat Oloruntoba as Commissioner for Special Duties. The confirmation was duly conducted and recorded by the House in plenary.
The successful screening and confirmation of Erelu Taibat Oloruntoba complete the constitutional process required for her appointment.
The Ondo State House of Assembly has thereby discharged its statutory responsibility in the constitution of the State Executive Council.
