Prince Daniel Omolola (PDO), the Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for the House of Representatives, Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency, was graciously received, blessed and endorsed by the Council of Traditional Rulers in Ogbagi-Akoko.
PDO received royal blessings from His Royal Majesty, Oba Victor Olasehinde Adetona, the Owa of Ogbagi, and other members of the Council of Chiefs during the visitation to his palace.
The visit drew together people from different political backgrounds and affiliations across the Akoko North Federal Constituency, showcasing the importance of dialogue, coalition, unity and peaceful political engagement in the common interest.
In attendance were the APM and PDP Alliance, PDO MOVEMENT, Akoko North Youth and Students for PDO, Indigenous groups and others.
Dignitaries present included APM State Executives, Ondo North APM senatorial stakeholders, APM Ondo North Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Adesina Momoh; APM House of Assembly Candidate for Akoko North West Constituency II, Hon. Remilekun Niyi Aribisala; the APM House of Assembly Candidate for Akoko North West Constituency II, Prince Ebenezer Ademola Olobayo; Akoko North East APM Party Chairman; Akoko North West APM Party Chairman; women leaders; ward coordinators; High Chief Lawrence Adubiaro, the Elegure of Ikare Kingdom; High Chief Okanranmu of Ikare Kingdom; and other high-profile stakeholders.
In his address, High Chief Lawrence Adubiaro, the Elegure of Ikare Kingdom, recounted how the Akoko North Federal Constituency MHR seat had rotated between Akoko North East and Akoko North West, with second term bids previously rejected by both local governments until the era of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
He noted Ikare’s major role in securing Tunji-Ojo’s second term based on performance, his subsequent appointment as Minister after months in the Green Chamber, and how Akoko North West was later allowed to complete the tenure, after which the sharing formula collapsed.
He stressed that Akoko North East was not happy with the development, adding that since Constituency II of Akoko North West had always kept to its word, they were ready to support Prince Daniel Omolola (PDO), expressing confidence that by the special grace of God, he shall be victorious.
In his remarks, HRM Oba Victor Olasehinde Adetona thanked God Almighty for making the programme achievable and expressed joy that the gathering was emanating not just from Ogbagi Kingdom but from his palace. Citing a proverb, the monarch said that no matter how important every part of the body is, the eyes are closer to the nose than to the leg, and urged Ikare not to betray the people of Ogbagi.
In his speech, Prince Daniel Omolola (PDO) thanked God Almighty, declaring that what God cannot do does not exist, that with God all things are possible, and that none compares to Him in power. He said his mission is to positively change the narrative in Akoko North Federal Constituency, noting that though he may not be the wealthiest, one with God is a majority. He described the forthcoming election as about the people first, stating that he came to seek his father’s royal blessings and the official support of the Ogbagi people as he flags off his campaign, promising never to disappoint them.
PDO appreciated the Ogbagi High Chiefs, the Ikare High Chiefs, supporters across the 23 wards, and the people of Ikare-Akoko for standing with him for the betterment of the constituency. He declared that money will be put to shame by the grace of God, stressing that it is time to stop mixing politics with governance and to embrace better representation for the people.
Prince Daniel Omolola was not only warmly celebrated in his hometown but was also blessed and endorsed by the revered monarch, who offered prayers for his political journey and electoral victory.
