NYSC Urges Corps Members To Comply With Curfew Directive In Oyo

The Oyo State chapter of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged Corps members serving across the state to comply strictly with the curfew imposed by the state government, assuring them that measures are in place to guarantee their safety.

The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations Unit, NYSC Oyo State, Faniyi Abimbola Remilekun.

According to the statement, the NYSC management, led by State Coordinator, Mr Kayode Ola Peters, called on Corps members to obey the curfew in the interest of public safety, security and the maintenance of law and order.

The scheme acknowledged concerns raised by some Corps members following the announcement of the curfew but stressed that there was no cause for alarm.

It noted that security agencies, working in collaboration with the Oyo State Government, were actively taking steps to protect lives and property across the state.

The statement partly read, “Management acknowledges the concerns and apprehension expressed by some Corps Members following the announcement of the curfew. While these concerns are understandable, the NYSC Oyo State Secretariat wishes to reassure all Corps members that there is no cause for alarm.

“Relevant security agencies, in collaboration with the Oyo State Government, are actively working to ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.”

The NYSC advised Corps members, particularly those in affected areas, to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding while fully complying with directives issued by the state government and other relevant authorities.

The scheme said adherence to the curfew was both a civic responsibility and a precautionary measure aimed at protecting residents, including Corps members.

It also sought to reassure parents, guardians and family members that it was maintaining close contact with relevant stakeholders and monitoring developments alongside government and security agencies.

The NYSC further urged Corps members to remain focused on their service responsibilities, exercise caution in their daily activities and cooperate with constituted authorities.
