A catastrophic petrol tanker explosion rocked Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State on Saturday morning, claiming over 70 lives and leaving many others with severe injuries.
The incident occurred along the Dikko-Maje Road, opposite the Badeggi Filling Station, after a tanker crash triggered a massive fire.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with flames engulfing vehicles and properties, leaving a trail of devastation.
Local residents and emergency responders worked tirelessly to rescue survivors and contain the inferno.
The Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs, Hon. Khadijat Kareem Omotayo, expressed deep sadness over the tragic event, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
She assured the public of the government’s commitment to providing support for the injured and affected families while taking steps to prevent future occurrences.
