The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Oyo State, warmly commends the Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), under the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rasaq Kalilu, for its commitment to restoring democratic students’ representation through the successful conduct of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) election.
This milestone reflects the University’s dedication to inclusive governance, constructive engagement, and the promotion of responsible students’ participation in institutional administration.
We also express our profound appreciation to the Dean of Student Affairs for his proactive leadership, commitment, and unwavering efforts throughout the period during which the Students’ Union remained proscribed.
His continuous engagement with students, effective coordination of student-related matters, and contributions towards sustaining peace and stability on campus played a significant role in creating the enabling environment that made the restoration of the Union possible.
The leadership of NANS JCC Oyo State proudly dedicates this historic achievement to all past administrations of the Association, both at the state and institutional levels, alongside every stakeholder who tirelessly advocated, engaged, and worked relentlessly for the reinstatement of the LAUTECH Students’ Union.
Their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the cause of students’ representation have culminated in this remarkable victory for the entire LAUTECH students’ community.
Furthermore, we commend the Students’ Union Electoral Committee and every official involved in the electoral process for conducting a free, fair, peaceful, transparent, and credible election.
The professionalism, neutrality, and integrity demonstrated throughout the exercise have strengthened students’ confidence in democratic leadership and have set a commendable standard for future elections within the institution.
As the Students’ Union begins a new chapter, NANS JCC Oyo State encourages all stakeholders to continue fostering mutual understanding, dialogue, and collaboration in order to sustain industrial harmony, protect the integrity of the Union, and promote the welfare and academic interests of every LAUTECH student.
We remain optimistic that this renewed era of students’ representation will usher in greater progress, unity, and responsible leadership within the institution.
