JUST-IN: Trump Bans CNN, MSNOW, Politico From White House, Thr£atens More Media Outlets

United States President, Donald Trump, has announced an immediate ban on three major American news organisations, CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House, accusing them of publishing “fiction and lies” about his administration in the latest escalation of his long-running battle with the media.

Trump made the announcement on Friday in a post on his Truth Social platform, declaring that the ban takes effect immediately and warning that other media organisations could also face similar action.

“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW … and Politico from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!” Trump wrote.

The president also accused the outlets of spreading falsehoods about him and the United States government.

“Media outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America,” Trump said.

The announcement did not immediately include details on how the White House intends to enforce the ban or whether it would involve revoking press credentials, excluding journalists from briefings, or removing the affected organisations from the White House press pool.

The move marks another chapter in Trump’s years-long confrontation with news organisations he frequently labels as “fake news.”

Trump has repeatedly criticised broadcasters and newspapers over coverage he considers unfair, while also calling for action against media organisations he says spread misinformation about his administration.

The latest announcement came amid ongoing legal and political disputes involving the Trump administration and several major U.S. media organisations over access, broadcasting regulations and press freedoms.
