Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, the PRP National Publicity Secretary, said the party is prepared to take part in the 2027 general elections.

He named other key officials of the party elected at the convention as Mallam Buhari Haruna, Deputy National Chairman (North); Comrade Muhammed Bello Ishaq, National Publicity Secretary; Haruna Nanven, National Organising Secretary, Mr. Patrick Ochuka, National Financial Secretary; Dr. Yunusa Bayawo, National Treasurer; Mallam Musa Buba, National Auditor and Ozu Important Fredrick, National Youth Leader.

Following enquiries, the PRP on Thursday assured members, the Public, and those expressing interest in joining the party that efforts were being made to get INEC to upload their details.

“The national leadership of the party has been inundated with enquiries over the absence of the names of key officers of the party on the INEC portal,” the party said.

Meanwhile, a faction of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) recently rejected the outcome of a convention held in Abuja, describing it as a “sham” and accusing a rival group of attempting to hijack the party for elite interests ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a press conference in Kano on Monday, the faction, operating under the PRP-Vanguard Collective, faulted the emergence of a new national chairman by what it called the “Falalu faction,” insisting that the exercise contravened the party’s constitution and ideological foundation.

The group’s National Chairman, Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, specifically criticised Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, whom he claimed was never a member of the PRP but is now “purporting to preside over its affairs.”

Reacting, the National Chairman of the PRP, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, decried recent attempts by a group to create factions within the party.

The PRP said it is taking necessary steps not to allow the creation of factions within the party.

It stated categorically that there is no faction within its ranks, adding that those calling themselves a faction in the party are not members.
