JUST-IN: Former Atiku Spokesperson Set To Become Tinubu’s Spokesperson Following Ngelale’s Exit

GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, has finally spoken about the rumours suggesting he could be the next spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu.

Following the recent resignation of Ajuri Ngelale, who previously held the role, there were suggestions from certain ends that Bwala might be considered for the role.

In his letter to the Nigerian government, Ngelale said he stepped down due to family reasons.

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s breakfast show, The Morning Brief, Bwala addressed both the rumours surrounding him and the upcoming cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu.

Regarding the rumours linking him to the role of Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bwala said, “I am not aware of people tipping me for the job, but I read things on social media. What I know is that every citizen of Nigeria who believes in government and how government should be run should play his part in supporting the government in whatever way you can. So that is what we have been doing without necessarily having to wait for appointment.”

On the imminent cabinet reshuffle, he said that while many are speculating about changes in the government, only the President truly knows who will stay and who will go.

“What you must always judge with government is that at every given time, the motive of the government, the intention of the government and the accountability that the government brings to the people should be a factor for assessment, not necessarily because you want to see some extraordinary thing before you do that.

“So, the president is assessing whether some people believe in his administration because if they do you will be a messenger of what you believe in. But as to say who should go or who should stay is the prerogative of the president, only the president knows who will go and who will stay.

“Anybody else who tells you he knows who will go and who will stay I think the person is either second-guessing or the person is not being fair to himself,” Bwala said.

Recall that in July, Bwala revealed he is no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He added that he is “very close” to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The disclosure took many by surprise, given that he was one of Tinubu’s fiercest critics.
