Prince Daniel Omolola, popularly known as PDO and the candidate of Allied People’s Movement (APM) for the House of Representatives seat representing Akoko North East and Akoko North West Federal Constituency, today brought smiles to the faces of market women in Ogbagi Akoko.
Immediately after his formal declaration at the palace of the Owa of Ogbagi, His Royal Majesty Oba Victor Olasehinde Adetona, the philanthropist-politician noticed several women by the roadside struggling to sell their meagre goods.
Moved by their situation, PDO approached one of the petty traders and inquired why her stock was so limited. After listening to her explanation, he became visibly emotional.
In a spontaneous show of compassion, he reached into his pocket and handed the woman an envelope containing cash to boost her business.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, the trader described him as “God-sent” to her and the people of the community.
PDO did not stop there. He proceeded into the market, where he extended similar financial support to numerous other traders, enabling them to expand their businesses and face the future with renewed hope.
The gesture, which has been widely applauded, underscores Prince Daniel Omolola’s commitment to the welfare of the ordinary people, particularly the hardworking market women who form the backbone of the local economy.
