The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that candidates who wish to change their university or line of study after the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can immediately begin the process.
According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, the procedure has been formally activated.
“Candidates wishing to change their institution or programme of choice may now proceed to do so by visiting any of the Board’s approved CBT,” the statement read.
JAMB advised applicants to visit any accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre nationwide to make the necessary changes.
The Board also announced that candidates will be able to print their original 2026 UTME result slips starting from Monday, May 18, 2026.
“Furthermore, the printing of the original 2026 UTME result slip will commence on Monday, 18th May, 2026,” Benjamin stated.
In a related development, JAMB has released the minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination cut-off marks approved by universities across the country for the 2026 admission exercise.
The submitted institutions’ minimum admissible score was displayed to journalists during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday with Pan-Atlantic University adopting 220, the highest minimum score on the list.
Several top institutions, including Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria and Covenant University adopted 200 as their minimum cut-off marks.
Lagos State University and Lagos State University of Science and Technology fixed 195, while Lagos State University of Education adopted 185.
JAMB explained that the approved figures represent the minimum thresholds for admission consideration, adding that institutions are permitted to set higher requirements for competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and Engineering. READ MORE
