How Tinubu Directed Discontinuance Of Two Cases Against Me – Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has revealed that President Bola Tinubu personally directed the discontinuance of the two criminal cases filed against her by the Federal Government, describing the development as a triumph of justice over persecution.

In a post on Thursday via her verified Facebook handle, the Kogi lawmaker expressed gratitude to God and to Nigerians who stood by her throughout the legal ordeal.

“With deep gratitude to God Almighty, I sincerely thank the good people of Nigeria, especially the people of Kogi State and most particularly Kogi Central, for their unwavering support through the ordeal,” she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that the withdrawal of the cases validated her long-held position that the charges were malicious and politically motivated.

“The recent withdrawal of the two federal government cases against me has clearly affirmed what we have always known: that the charges were maliciously instigated by individuals who sought to manipulate the system and persecute an innocent person,” she said.

Natasha specifically acknowledged President Tinubu, saying his intervention ensured that justice prevailed.

“I also extend my appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who, in his wisdom and commitment to justice, ensured that the truth prevailed and directed the discontinuance of the cases,” the senator said.

The lawmaker also paid tribute to several individuals and advocacy groups who supported her publicly during the controversy, including activist Obiageli Ezekwesili, human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), members of Womanifesto, Ayesha Yesufu, Opeyemi Adamolekun, the Enough is Enough group, SERAP, the Nigerian Bar Association and other unnamed supporters.

She reserved special appreciation for her immediate family and political associates, describing them as her strongest pillar during the period.

“Lastly and dearest of all, my beloved husband, children, office and PDP team. I love you endlessly,” she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan clarified that the notices of discontinuance were filed on December 12, 2025, stressing that the decision had no connection with any church sermon or religious intervention.

The striking out of the cases brings to an end months of legal and public controversy surrounding the senator, with rights groups previously condemning the prosecutions as an attempt to intimidate a serving lawmaker and suppress free expression.
