I got married to a man my friend rejected. Yes. So, let me give you a backstory on how all of this started.
In 2023, my friend was dating this man. He was around 43 or 44 years old. My friend used to tell me that she didn’t like the man. She was just there for the benefits because the man was still turning up for her whenever she needed him.
When I asked her why she didn’t like him, she said she didn’t like the way he dressed or talked because he was an Igbo man and had an Igbo accent. Even whenever he spoke English, the accent always came through. She said she could not introduce someone like that as her husband.
Back then, we were staying together, and I was living in her house. So, whenever the man came around, I saw him. This man was madly in love with my friend, but she wasn’t serious about the relationship. So, he eventually moved on and stopped coming around.
Six months later, I met him at the mall. We spoke, exchanged pleasantries, and I gave him my contact. We started talking on WhatsApp. That was when I discovered that this man was actually very funny, kind and a giver.
This man was well established. He was into a big business and was a successful Igbo businessman. He already had six cars and a house. All those times when he was coming around, my friend was just coming with Siyana. We didn’t know that he was actually very rich.
