The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oyo State Chapter, unequivocally reaffirms Hon. Abeeb Idowu Balogun, popularly known as AIB, as the party’s candidate for Ibadan South-West State Constituency II in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Our attention has been drawn to a misleading online publication alleging that Hon. Balogun is not the ADC candidate for the constituency.
We categorically reject this claim and maintain that Hon. Abeeb Idowu Balogun is duly qualified to contest the election under the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the constitution of our great party, the ADC.
We find it particularly disturbing that such weighty allegations are attributed to nameless individuals masquerading as concerned party members.
The circumstances surrounding this publication raise serious questions about the motives of its sponsors. We strongly suspect that political interests opposed to the growing strength of the ADC may be exploiting faceless individuals to create confusion within our party.
No genuine party loyalist committed to the success of the ADC would knowingly promote falsehood capable of undermining the party’s electoral prospects.
