H0rror As Crocodile K¡lls 12-year-old Boy After Dragging Him Into River

A 12-year-old boy was killed after a crocodile dragged him into the river in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, India while he was washing his hands and feet after working in a paddy field.

Despite frantic efforts by his uncle and villagers, who pelted the reptile with bricks and stones in an attempt to save the child, the crocodile repeatedly tossed him into the water before dragging him into deeper waters.

The boy’s mutilated body was recovered nearly five hours later.

The incident took place on Thursday evening in the Baundi police station area, about 45 km from the Bahraich district headquarters.

A video purportedly capturing parts of the attack surfaced on Friday and has since gone viral on social media. Police have confirmed both the incident and the authenticity of the video.

According to villagers, the victim, Sunil, had accompanied his uncle Vijay Raj Singh to transplant paddy in agricultural fields on Thursday afternoon.

After working in the fields for nearly three to four hours, the duo stopped at the Ghaghara River around 6 pm to wash their hands and feet before returning home.

As the boy was washing himself at the riverbank, a crocodile suddenly emerged from the water, clamped its jaws around his leg and began dragging him into the river.

Eyewitnesses said the terrified child desperately struggled to free himself while screaming for help.

The boy’s uncle immediately raised an alarm and rushed into the river in an attempt to save his nephew.

Farmers working in nearby fields also rushed to the spot after hearing the cries.

Villagers hurled bricks and stones at the crocodile hoping it would release the child.

However, instead of letting go, the reptile reportedly tossed the boy into the water several times before pulling him further into the river.

The crocodile disappeared into deep waters with the child within minutes, leaving the villagers helpless.

Recounting the horrific incident, the victim’s uncle Vijay Raj Singh said he jumped into the river and managed to grab the boy’s hand.

“I remained in the river for nearly seven minutes trying to pull him back. I held his hand, but the crocodile was much stronger and dragged him into deeper waters. I could not save him,” he said.

He added that when the body was eventually found, one leg and a large portion of the lower abdomen had been eaten by the crocodile.

Following the attack, hundreds of villagers gathered along the riverbank and launched a search operation using long bamboo poles.

As darkness fell, the search continued with the help of flashlights.

Owing to the strong current in the Ghaghara River, villagers searched a stretch of nearly 500 metres downstream.

After nearly five hours of searching, the child’s body was recovered at around 10 pm, floating approximately 300 metres from the site of the attack.
