No fewer than 25 people are feared dead after suspected terrorists launched a deadly midnight attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
According to reports, the attackers, believed to be suspected Fulani militants, invaded the community at about 1:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, catching residents off guard as they slept.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the assailants opened fire indiscriminately, forcing terrified residents to flee into nearby bushes in a desperate bid to escape the onslaught.
The attack reportedly left many people dead, while several others sustained injuries. The exact number of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed.
The assault has thrown the rural community into mourning, with families searching for missing loved ones as local volunteers and security personnel begin rescue and recovery efforts.
