FLASH: Saudi Crown Prince Invites Tinubu To Future Investment Initiative

President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, received an invitation from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to attend the 10th edition of the Future Investment Initiative scheduled to take place in Riyadh in October.

According to a post on the Saudi Arabi Embassy in Nigeria X handle, theinvitation was delivered on Friday by the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Albalawi, during an audience with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to the post, Albalawi conveyed the invitation on behalf of the Saudi Crown Prince, inviting President Tinubu to participate in the landmark investment forum.

It stated that Tinubu expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership for the invitation and reaffirmed the cordial ties between both countries.

The President also commended the strong bilateral relationship between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that cooperation between the two nations continues to grow across various sectors.

Tinubu expressed his “sincere thanks and appreciation for the invitation” and praised “the strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria across various fields.”

The Future Investment Initiative is Saudi Arabia’s flagship global investment conference, often referred to as the “Davos in the Desert.”

It is organised annually by the Future Investment Initiative Institute, a non-profit foundation based in Riyadh, and serves as a platform for world leaders, investors, business executives, innovators and policymakers to discuss global economic trends, technology, sustainability and investment opportunities.

The 10th edition of the FII is expected to be held in Riyadh in October 2026, marking a decade since the initiative was launched in 2017 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.

Over the years, the forum has attracted heads of state, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, entrepreneurs and leading financial institutions from around the world.

This year’s summit is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, energy transition, climate resilience, healthcare innovation, infrastructure development, advanced manufacturing and strategies for mobilising global capital to drive sustainable economic growth.
