President Bola Tinubu has successfully intervened in the crisis rocking the Lagos State House of Assembly, as he met with Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and other lawmakers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The lawmakers arrived at the Presidential Villa in two coaster buses around 2 pm, while Obasa arrived separately at 2:50 pm.
Obasa was immediately led to the Presidentās office.
The closed-door meeting lasted for approximately two hours, concluding around 4:30 pm.
Following the meeting, Obasa declined to comment on the discussions, leaving journalists without a statement.
However, the lawmakersā actions spoke louder than words as they exited the meeting singing āOn your mandate, we shall standā in unison, affirming their loyalty to President Tinubu.
The singing lasted for some minutes as the lawmakers made their way to their waiting buses.
Obasa exited the Villa alongside House of Representatives member James Faleke and refused to answer questions, but Faleke briefly responded, āIt went well,ā when asked about the meeting.
Sources close to the matter revealed that some lawmakers may have apologized to Obasa for his recent impeachment.
There are also reports that Obasa has been told to drop all suits against his colleagues.
