Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, as the new Force Public Relations Officer.
The Force announced its new image maker in a statement signed by the outgoing Public Relations Officer DCP Anthony Placid, this Friday.
CSP Iniedu, a native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, holds a degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and has extensive experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management and institutional administration.
Before his appointment, he served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he coordinated public complaint management and championed initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
He has also held key positions including Operations Officer, Maisandari Division, Yobe State Command; Area Crime Officer, Umuahia Area Command, Abia State; Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat; Second-in-Command of 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Kubwa; and Officer-in-Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room.
The Inspector-General of Police expressed confidence in CSP Iniedu’s capacity to lead the Force Public Relations Department, noting that his experience will further strengthen the Force’s strategic communication and public engagement.
He succeeds DCP Anthony Okon Placid as Force Public Relations Officer.
