The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has mocked activist politician, Aisha Yesufu over her inability to emerge the FCT senatorial candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
Wike said Yesufu, known for speaking what he termed “grammar” could not win “ordinary” NDC’s primary election in the FCT.
Wike made the comments at a luncheon for candidates of the Rainbow coalition in Port Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday.
According to Wike: “There’s one woman who said Wike is an appointee of government and that she has no business with appointees. You speak grammar, speak grammar.
“Ordinary primary of NDC, not APC or PDP, just ordinary NDC, what happened? She didn’t make it.
“It’s easy for people to talk. When they enter into those media houses, they begin to churn out data from nowhere.
“Now, the time for data has come. What happened? ‘Fa fa fa foul. It didn’t work. If e didn’t dey? E didn’t dey.”
Wike also said the four political parties under the “Rainbow Coalition” in Rivers State will collectively agree on a single governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections, dismissing speculation that any individual has already secured the ticket.
He said the alliance, comprising the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP) and Action Alliance (AA), has yet to settle on a flag bearer, adding that the decision will be taken jointly under the coalition’s leadership.
“The Rainbow Coalition, we have not chosen who will be the governor of Rivers State. But we have party candidates who have emerged under the Rainbow Coalition. The only decision we have taken is that we are going to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the minister said.
