GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that a man identified as Ebenezer Frimpong has been arrested for allegedly stealing an armoured vehicle belonging to the Ghana Police Service.
Mr Frimpong allegedly stole the vehicle at Nkawie Market in the Ashanti Region of the country.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the driver of the armoured vehicle briefly stepped out, leaving the engine running.
Frimpong was said to have taken advantage of the situation, entered the vehicle, and drove off from the busy market area.
Security operatives immediately launched a pursuit upon receiving reports of the theft, tracking the suspect along the NkawieâMim route.
He was subsequently intercepted and arrested near Mim after a coordinated effort by law enforcement officers.
The stolen armoured vehicle was successfully recovered without damage.
Authorities have since taken the suspect into custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
