Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, alive during a late-night rescue operation carried out around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Two suspected kidnappers were neutralised in a gun duel with police operatives, while two firearms were recovered from the gang.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that 43 years old Mrs. John-Paul and her twin were whisked away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, by unknown assailants at Challenge–Elewura area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
Reports have it that the victims were intercepted by armed gunmen during a morning school run while driving a wine-colored Hyundai Sonata.
Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence tracking and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with operatives, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.
Security operatives are currently combing nearby areas for fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
The rescue operation comes barely 24 hours after Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde visited former Minister of Power and 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, following the brazen abduction.
In the video sighted by our correspondent, it captured a moment of shared grief cutting across political lines, with Governor Makinde telling Adelabu, “Brother, sorry. This is the trouble we all find ourselves.”
Shortly after the governor’s arrival, both leaders proceeded into a closed-door meeting.
