The Founder and President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has lost his mother, Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome, at the age of 88.
The revered matriarch of the Oyakhilome family reportedly passed on in the early hours of today, surrounded by family members. While an official statement from the family and the church is still being awaited, sources close to the family confirmed the development to newsmen.
Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome was a highly respected figure in the LoveWorld Nation and the wider Christian community. She was known as a formidable woman of faith, a devoted mother, and a strong pillar behind the success of her son’s global ministry.
Born into a Christian home, Deaconess Angel dedicated her entire life to the service of God. Alongside her late husband, Elder T.E. Oyakhilome, who was one of the founding fathers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, Edo State, she raised her children in the way of the Lord. Elder Oyakhilome passed away in 2008 after serving as the Dean of Studies at the Loveworld Ministerial College.
Deaconess Angel is survived by four children, including Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Reverend Ken Oyakhilome, who is the Pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas and a member of the Central Executive Council, Evangelist Kathy Woghiren, Director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry, and Pastor Linda Okocha, Zonal Pastor of Christ Embassy Port-Harcourt Zone 2.
She was known for her humility, grace, and unwavering support for her son’s ministry from its humble beginnings as a campus fellowship, Youth for Christ, at the then Bendel State University, to the global movement it has become today with millions of members across the world.

Tributes have already started pouring in from members of the LoveWorld Nation and Christian leaders across the country, describing her as a mother of faith who lived a fulfilled and impactful life.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
