Nigeria will face Mozambique in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, organisers have confirmed.
This confirmation followed the conclusion of match day three on Wednesday night.
The knockout fixture is scheduled to take place in Fez, setting up a decisive clash as the Super Eagles continue their push for continental glory at #AFCON2025.
The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Round of 16 kicks off January 3–6, 2026 across multiple Moroccan cities. The last‑16 ties will determine who moves on to the quarter‑finals scheduled for January 9–10.
A total of 16 nations have progressed from the group stage:
Group A: Morocco, Mali
Group B: Egypt, South Africa
Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Tanzania
Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin
Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Sudan
Group F: Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mozambique
Nigeria topped Group C with three wins from three matches, sealing their place in the Round of 16 with momentum and solid form.
Their next opponent is the third‑placed team from Group F.
Round of 16 matches will be played in Fez, Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir and Marrakesh — key host cities for AFCON 2025 in Morocco, PUNCH Online reports.
