The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has commenced its 2026 recruitment exercise for qualified citizens of member states, including Nigeria.
The regional bloc announced the vacancies in a notice published on its official website, stating that the exercise is aimed at strengthening the implementation of its sectoral programmes across its institutions.
According to the notice, several positions are available at the ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.
They include Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant, Legal Officers, Political Adviser, Principal Officer, Registrar (Judicial Process and Case Management), Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard.
Other newly listed roles closing on November 5, 2026, include Office Manager, Information Technology Officer, Human Resources Officer, Auditor (Operational Compliance) and Administrative Officer.
The organisation also listed vacancies outside Nigeria, including Administrative and Finance Officer in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Principal Programme Officer (Sports Policy) in Liberia, Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, Guinea, as well as Legal and Administrative roles in Dakar, Senegal.

👉 JOIN WHATSAPP CHANNELECOWAS stated that applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS member state and meet age requirements: 35 years maximum for General Services positions (G1 to G7), 45 years for Professional category (P1 to P7), and 50 years for Director positions (D1-D2).
Interested applicants are required to download and complete the official application form from the ECOWAS careers portal at ecowas.int/careers
Applicants are to attach their Curriculum Vitae and motivation letter, and submit via the designated email addresses provided for each vacancy.
The Commission warned that recruitment is free and cautioned the public against fraudsters, noting that the exercise is being managed in partnership with Deloitte and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
