The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has officially announced the opening of its 2027 Internship Program – Session 1, offering young professionals across Africa a chance to gain practical experience in development finance.
According to the official posting released on September 28, 2026, the application window will only be open for fifteen (15) calendar days, closing on October 12, 2026.
Successful candidates will commence their internship in January 2027.
Selected interns will be deployed to various departments at the Bank’s Headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as its Regional and Country Offices. The internship may be conducted remotely or on-site, depending on the requirements of the hiring unit.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants must be nationals of an AfDB member country, be no more than 30 years old at commencement, be enrolled in a Master’s degree program or have graduated within the last year, and be fluent in English or French.
FIELDS OF INTEREST:
The Bank disclosed that focus areas are aligned to its Ten-Year Strategy and include Agriculture, Human Capital, Engineering, Investment, Finance, Procurement, Risk Management, Economics, Statistics and Data Management, HR, Information Technology, Communication, Legal, Governance, and Sustainability, among others.
