Actor turned politician, Kenneth Okonkwo has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) formed the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to lure Peter Obi away from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Okonkwo made the allegation during an interview on TVC Politics while discussing the opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Okonkwo is currently serving as a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign.
According to him, the NDC was a “contraption” allegedly created by the APC and used to attract Obi away from the opposition coalition.
He said: “APC give it to them. They formed a contraption called NDC and used it to lure Peter Obi, who likes free things.”
The comments came during a discussion about political movements within the opposition camp, including the movement of some politicians from the ADC to the NDC close to the deadline for nominations.

👉 JOIN WHATSAPP CHANNELResponding to the development, Okonkwo said: “The only thing I will tell you is that whoever is in NDC is a suspect as a surrogate of APC, because there was no reason for any of them to have left ADC for NDC at the closing time of nomination.”
Okonkwo has previously made similar allegations about the NDC, claiming that the party was registered to attract Obi and describing his move to the party as a trap.
Those claims have been reported as allegations and have not established that the APC created or controls the NDC.
