Adelekes, Davido Are Disappointments To Osun – VeryDarkMan

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has criticised Afrobeats star Davido, his cousin B-Red and the Adeleke family over what he described as the lack of development in Osun State, calling for other families to be given an opportunity to govern the state.

In a video circulating on social media, VeryDarkMan questioned the family’s political influence in Osun, arguing that the state had not recorded sufficient development despite the Adelekes’ longstanding involvement in its affairs.

He said his observations during a visit to the state convinced him that it was time for the family to give others an opportunity to lead.

“The Adelekes have been in power for more than 35 years now. They have been running Osun State well. That state that I went to, that I saw, since you said the Adelekes have been running it for 30-something years, I think it’s time for them to stop running it because that particular state, there’s no development, there’s no growth,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also criticised Davido, B-Red and other members of the family, arguing that their international exposure and political connections should translate into more tangible development for the state.

He accused them of failing to apply the knowledge and experiences gained from travelling abroad to improve Osun, alleging that they preferred spending time in Lagos rather than contributing meaningfully to the state’s development.

The activist further argued that Osun needed to attract more investors and improve its infrastructure to create an environment conducive to economic growth.

Citing the absence of an airport as an example, he questioned how the state could easily attract investors without the facility.

“They need to get investors back to that state,” VeryDarkMan said, adding that the Adelekes should use their exposure to developments outside Nigeria to help improve the state.

He maintained that members of the family who hold political positions should contribute to addressing the state’s development challenges or allow other political interests to take over leadership.
