I wish to formally draw the attention of the general public and the Oyo State Government to the established rotational order governing the selection of the Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ile, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It has come to my attention that some individuals are making claims that there is no declaration or established rotational arrangement guiding the succession to the revered throne.
In the interest of peace, justice, fairness, and the preservation of our traditional heritage, it is important that this matter be addressed responsibly and clearly.
According to the historical rotational arrangement understood to have been followed in Ikoyi-Ile since 1976, the order of succession among the relevant royal families is as follows:

1. Ojo Atoyebi Family– The present family entitled to produce the next candidate under the established rotation.
2. Adegun Family
3. Adesite Family

I appeal to all sons and daughters of Ikoyi-Ile, traditional stakeholders, kingmakers, and government authorities to uphold peace, fairness, transparency, and respect for our traditional institutions. No individual or group should seek to undermine a legitimate customary process through unsubstantiated claims.
The ultimate objective should be to ensure that the succession process is conducted in accordance with the applicable tradition, verifiable historical evidence, and the laws of Oyo State.
