Arsenal’s teenage midfielder Max Dowman has been presented with three official Guinness World Records certificates.
Given his rocketing rise with the reigning Premier League champions – and cameos in Europe – the 16-year-old has been awarded with certificates for: the youngest football player to win the Premier League (16 years and 144 days); the youngest goalscorer in the Premier League (16 years 73 days), and the youngest player to feature in the Uefa Champions League (15 years 308 days).
Tom Beckerlegge, senior editor of Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, said of Dowman: “The youngest player on our list, Max sums up what the Class of ‘27 is all about. To have already achieved three Guinness World Records titles before turning 17 is extraordinary, and his story captures exactly why this generation of players is so exciting.”
Dowman made his league debut against Leeds United to become the second-youngest player in Premier League history, behind his own Arsenal team-mate, Ethan Nwaneri – who made his debut at aged 15 years and 181 days.
Dowman’s goal against Everton on March 14, 2026 made him the youngest scorer. He took his goal in injury time during Arsenal’s 2–0 win at the Emirates, meaning he broke the previous record of 16 years 270 days, which was by James Vaughan, then an Everton player. That record had stood for more than 20 years.
In a recent appearance on the Stick To Football podcast, Jack Wilshere shared a story about Dowman’s debut for Arsenal Under-18s at 13 years of age.

Dowman has been in international action during this break in Premier League proceedings, and scored the only goal for England Under-19s in a 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland at St George’s Park.
Dowman also came off the bench for the final 30 minutes of a 2-1 win over Norway. He set up winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the United States but was then sent off, so missed the final match of the window which England U19 lost to Belgium.
