Wanted Human Traff¡cker ‘Pu$sy Mama’ Arrested After 10 Years On The Run For Traff¡cking Over 3,000 Nigerians

A 38-year-old Nigerian man, known as Pussy Mama, has been remanded by the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court for allegedly trafficking over 3,000 young girls and boys from Nigeria to Ghana, Mali, and other countries for prostitution.

For over a decade, the accused had been on the wanted list of both Nigerian and Ghanaian police for his alleged involvement in human trafficking.

It was gathered that authorities faced challenges in apprehending him, with some investigators attributing his elusive nature to the alleged use of “juju,” a traditional form of spiritual protection, according to Joy Online.

According to a police report, the suspect, identified as intersex with traits of both male and female genitalia, is allegedly involved in trafficking women and girls from Nigeria, Liberia, and Togo into Ghana for prostitution.

It was revealed that the victims were forced into prostitution at various locations, including hostels and nightclubs in Kasoa, Buduburam, and surrounding areas.

The suspect reportedly lured the women with promises of well-paying jobs but later coerced them into sex work.

For over a decade, he had managed to evade arrest by both Nigerian and Ghanaian authorities, allegedly using mystical powers to elude capture.

Police sources disclosed that the trafficker would disappear just before law enforcement could apprehend him. None of these claims was confirmed to be true.

However, his luck ran out during a recent operation. While attempting to traffic another group of young girls from Nigeria to Ghana for prostitution, he was arrested by a young female police officer.

The suspect was arraigned before the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Presided over by His Lordship Isaac Oheneba Kuffour, the court ordered that he be remanded in police custody.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on October 18, 2024.

Mr. Azubuike, who also serves as the Africa Coordinator for the International Human Rights Observatory, stated that the suspect has consistently managed to evade both Nigerian and Ghanaian police whenever arrested.

He commended the policewoman involved and urged the Ghana Police Service and the Chief Justice to remain vigilant to prevent another escape from custody.
