The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will open online registration for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 recruitment exercise on Thursday, September 3, offering eligible Nigerians an opportunity to apply for enlistment as Airmen and Airwomen.
The recruitment exercise is open to applicants seeking entry through the Non-Tradesmen and Women and Tradesmen and Women categories.
Prospective applicants should use only the official NAF recruitment portal, https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng, to submit their applications.
Applicants are advised to follow these steps:
1. Visit the official recruitment portal
From September 3, applicants should visit the official recruitment website and carefully read the guidelines for the BMTC 47/2026 exercise before beginning an application.
The portal will contain the official eligibility requirements, available categories and other instructions for prospective recruits.
2. Choose the appropriate category
Applicants should determine whether they qualify as Non-Tradesmen and Women or Tradesmen and Women.
The Non-Trades category is generally for applicants using their secondary school qualifications, while the Trades category is designed for those with relevant professional, technical or educational qualifications.
Applicants should carefully check the requirements for their preferred category before proceeding.
3. Complete the online application
Applicants should provide accurate personal and educational information and use a working telephone number and email address.
Only one application should be submitted. Providing false information or making multiple applications could lead to disqualification.
4. Print the required documents
After completing the application, candidates should print all documents generated by the recruitment portal.
These may include an acknowledgement form, attestation form, parent or guardian consent form and local government certification form, depending on the official requirements published for the exercise.
5. Prepare supporting documents
Applicants should keep their relevant original documents and photocopies ready for subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
These may include academic certificates, a birth certificate or declaration of age, certificate of origin, National Identification Number (NIN) documents and passport photographs.
Candidates should, however, follow the exact document requirements published for the BMTC 47/2026 exercise.
6. Monitor official channels
Shortlisted applicants, aptitude test venues and interview dates will be announced later through the official recruitment portal and other verified NAF communication channels.
The Nigerian Air Force has warned applicants not to pay anyone for assistance with their applications or recruitment.
The application is free, and the force does not use agents. Anyone demanding money to process an application, secure shortlisting or guarantee a recruitment slot should be treated as a suspected fraudster.
