VLFN Tells Tinubu To Sack TCN MD/CEO, Engr Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, Gives Reason

The Visionary Leaders Forum of Nigeria (VLFN) expresses its profound concern over what we consider the unsatisfactory pace of progress in Nigeria’s electricity transmission subsector under the leadership of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz.

While we acknowledge the strategic importance of TCN in Nigeria’s electricity value chain, we believe that the company has not delivered the level of transformation expected by Nigerians. The recurring challenges associated with power transmission, grid disturbances, and the inability of the transmission network to effectively support improved electricity supply continue to raise serious concerns among citizens.

It is our considered opinion that the current leadership of TCN has not demonstrated the urgency, innovation, and result-oriented approach required to reposition the organization in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Nigeria’s economic growth, industrial development, and national competitiveness depend largely on a robust and efficient transmission network. We therefore believe that the time has come for a fresh leadership approach capable of accelerating reforms, improving operational efficiency, and delivering measurable results for Nigerians.

Accordingly, the Visionary Leaders Forum of Nigeria respectfully calls on His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to urgently review the leadership of the Transmission Company of Nigeria and replace Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz with a more competent, innovative, and performance-driven professional who possesses the vision and capacity to reposition TCN to meet the expectations of Nigerians and the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Our call is not borne out of personal sentiments but from our unwavering commitment to good governance, accountability, and effective service delivery. Public offices must remain performance-driven, and leadership positions should continually reflect the aspirations of the Nigerian people.

We remain confident in President Tinubu’s resolve to build strong institutions and ensure that every government agency is led by individuals capable of delivering tangible results that will positively impact the lives of Nigerians.

The Visionary Leaders Forum of Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to supporting every genuine reform aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s power sector and promoting sustainable national development.
