Renewed Hope Street Crusaders Begin Mobilisation In Ose, Rally Support For Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid

The ancient town of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State came alive on Tuesday as residents, political stakeholders, and supporters gathered in large numbers for the official mobilisation and sensitisation programme of the Renewed Hope Street Crusaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, held at the Ifon Town Hall, marked the commencement of grassroots political engagement by the group, which is said to be backed by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in support of the second term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Under the leadership of National Coordinator, Yinka Richards, the event drew a massive turnout as residents of Ose and members of the organisation welcomed the team amid celebration, music and enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, Richards expressed appreciation for the warm reception and explained why Ose was selected as the starting point of the mobilisation effort.

According to him, Ose occupies a special place in his heart because it is his hometown, making it the ideal location to launch the campaign.

He noted that the Renewed Hope Street Crusaders was established to take the message of the Renewed Hope agenda directly to the grassroots through street-to-street engagement, market sensitisation and direct interaction with ordinary Nigerians.

“Our objective is simple, to take the campaign to the people. We are going to the streets, markets and communities because every vote matters,” he said.

Richards described Minister Tunji-Ojo as a leader with a listening ear and one whose leadership style deserves encouragement and support.

He argued that Ondo State currently occupies a significant position nationally, noting that the state now enjoys increased federal representation and influence.

According to him, sustaining such political relevance requires continued support for President Tinubu and the administration’s policies.

He also revealed that he previously served as a Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor but resigned from the position after becoming dissatisfied with what he described as unmet expectations regarding Ose’s development and political advancement.

Richards claimed he had pushed for developmental projects and stronger political representation for Ose while in office, but his efforts did not receive the desired response.

He therefore called on residents to participate actively in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that voter participation would determine the future direction of governance.

He further announced plans for continuous mobilisation and registration drives across the local government.

“We need everyone to get involved. Beyond today’s event, we will return for further sensitisation and support people through the registration process so no one is left out,” he added.

The programme featured participants from six political wards in Ose Local Government, while organisers disclosed that the remaining wards in the Ire Akari axis would be covered in subsequent engagements.

In a move aimed at improving inclusiveness, Richard also used the occasion to unveil a platform designed to assist residents with registration processes and reduce complaints about unofficial charges during enrolment exercises.
